Michael May is a teacher, writer, performer and owner of 1st Class Guitar LLC based in St. Paul MN. It all began at the age of 12 when he received his first guitar and since then has enjoyed playing, teaching, and sharing his passion for the guitar with others! With over 20 years of teaching experience, he will guide YOU in achieving YOUR dream of playing the guitar too!!
Lessons
Michael's philosophy to teaching is pretty simple: HIS job is to help YOU reach YOUR musical goals! His first question to all potential students is “What do you want to achieve”? The first lesson will be an evaluation of your skill set (beginners welcome!) and then a lesson “plan” that is custom made to your goals! During this process he will share many insights with you that he has learned over the years. In short, you will be able to see progression of your goals in a significantly shorter time period by using the techniques and strategies he has developed over the years!

Michael offers individual private, in person and skype lessons as well as group lessons. Instruction is offered in Guitar and Ukelele. In person lessons are paid for in advance, purchased in blocks of 4 lessons, on the final lesson if you wish to continue on, you would purchase another block of lessons, otherwise the final lesson is already paid for. Skype lessons may be purchased individually or in blocks with set scheduling times. For Skype lessons you will be asked to send an email letting me know what you hope to accomplish, then there will be an initial conversation before the lesson at no charge. For Group lessons there is a sign up wizard and dates set for class times, when the class reaches a min number of registrations then the class will be scheduled to take place.
